Each song was carefully chosen for it's emotional power, it's spiritual resonance and it's simple message. Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord – Godspell This opening song also opens the musical Godspell. I remember experiencing this show for the first time in the mid 70's in Birmingham in the West Midlands of England. I was a drama student and I was inspired by the intensity of the lyric and the haunting quality of the melody. That moment has remained with me ever since. Oh What A Beautiful Morning – Oklahoma In the mid sixties I saw the film Oklahoma in dazzling color at our local cinema The Grove in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland. When Gordon McCrea came riding through the corn singing this song I thought my ten year old heart would burst. I'll Be Seeing You – Right This Way This song has always had an emotional resonance for me. The sense of continuity in love and friendship that will never end, is such a hopeful message. Gold – Camille Claudel This song is quite simply, a perfect prayer. Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Medley What a joyful musical, filled with biblical stories, adversity and sibling rivalries, all of which are resolved through the power of faith. Somewhere – West Side Story All through history there are many stories of star-crossed lovers. Most of these tales end with great tragedy. This song takes us to a place filled with hope. Climb Every Mountain – The Sound Of Music One of the great affirmative anthems. I only began to fully appreciate it's message when I faced some formidable challenges in life. This is a treasured mantra. Electricity – Billy Elliot This song truly explores the mystery of our inner strength and our driving force. It is ultimately triumphant. Hallelujah Broadway I wrote the lyrics to this song to express my gratitude to all the great playwrights and composers who have inspired me, given me refuge and enriched my life. Lift my spirit. Free my soul. Godspell Medley The theatrical experience of Godspell was life-changing for me. I was young and foolish and Godspell gave me some direction. It is at the very heart of the Hallelujah Broadway concept. Seasons Of Love – Rent How it confronts great social themes in such a beautifully crafted ode to the healing power of love, makes this song stand tall among all of the repertoire. Sunday – Sunday In The Park With George This fabulous harmonic feast celebrates the nature of the world around us and draws us into it's spell. Open your eyes to the beauty that surrounds you. What I Did For Love – A Chorus Line Whenever I need reminding the 'the past is another country' and I need to move on, this song does the trick. Bring Him Home – Les Miserables There are so many levels to this magnificent ballad that it has a resonance far beyond it's context within Les Miserables. Listen and contemplate. Anthem – Chess Sometimes our love of country, of homeland, is the most powerful force within us. You'll Never Walk Alone – Carousel This song has given me comfort, stirred my heart and moved me to tears for most of my life. For Good – Wicked Over the years I have learned that men are pretty good at making themselves heard. However, there is one message they struggle with. And that is, telling each other how they truly feel. Someone Like You – Jekyll and Hyde Our journey through life presents many challenges. If we need to find someone to share that journey, it opens a whole new realm of possibility. Jesus Christ Superstar Medley One very special rock opera challenged the world of musical theatre and brought a touch of unexpected humanity to the stage. This medley makes our show complete.
